On July 18, 2024, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office along with the Department of Natural Resources, fellow law enforcement and the community got together at the new firing range/training facility for the ribbon cutting.
The facility is a state-of-the-art firearms training facility, equipped with the most up to date technology and training tools that ensures the officers receive the highest level of training available. Inveris Training Solutions designed the Range Master 9000 target system specifically for the needs of the CCSO officers. The system allows for those utilizing it to have complete control over stationary, moving, and the 360-degree turning capabilities of the targets.
The range has a total of twenty moving targets that are separated into two banks of ten targets. Each bank can be operated separately or together depending on the number of shooters. This advanced system will enhance the readiness and effectiveness of our law enforcement, making our community safer.
While this range will primarily train the officers, the Sheriff’s Office is excited to reintroduce their Firearms Familiarization Classes to the public throughout the year. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our state government, local government, and community partners.
“Thank you to our Crisp County Board of Commissions, state government, community partners, vendors, and individuals who contributed to the CCSO Firing Range Project. Your belief in this project and your contributions have been invaluable. Thank you for helping us build a stronger and safer community,” Sheriff Billy Hancock
