Over the next week from July 15-21st you will see an increase in law enforcement around the community taking part in Operation Southern Slow Down. Five southeastern states will be focusing on speed prevention and reckless driving on all roadways this week. The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office informed the public that speeding is more than just breaking the law. Speeding can have multiple consequences such as; greater potential for loss of vehicle control, reduced effectiveness of occupant protection equipment, increased stopping distance after the driver perceives a danger, increased degree of crash severity leading to more sever injuries.

Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety wants everyone to, “Drive the speed limit and buckle up every time you are behind the wheel.”
