Early voters have turned out in droves in Crisp, Dooly, and Wilcox counties during advance voting for the 2018 general election.

In Crisp County, more than 2,000 early ballots have been cast with six days of advance voting remaining.

Crisp County Elections Supervisor Becky Perkins said she has averaged around 300 voters a day. If that average holds, the total numbers of advance ballots cast in Crisp County this year will exceed the 2016 presidential election’s early voting count of roughly 3,300.

In Wilcox County, just over 500 of the county’s 4,209 registered voters have already cast their ballots, according to Wilcox County Elections Supervisor April Graham.

Dooly County election workers have seen more than 830 voters cast early ballots. There are 5,637 total registered voters in Dooly.

Dooly County Elections Supervisor Brenetta C. Childs said the advance voting tally there may exceed the county’s total for the 2016 campaign.

Advance polling locations are open today and Monday through Friday next week.
