The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open a mobile assistance center on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. in Cordele at the parking lot next to the county government building on the corner of 7th Street and 13th Avenue.

FEMA is currently in the process of setting up their mobile facility there, but they will not be seeing residents of Crisp and other qualified counties who have experienced individual losses in excess of what would normally be covered by insurance until Thursday.

FEMA’s individual assistance program provides federal resources for impacted individuals and households, including financial assistance for temporary housing, home repair, and damage to essential household items. This assistance also covers disaster-related childcare, medical, and essential vehicle expenses.

Here is a full list of Georgia counties covered by FEMA’s individual assistance program: Baker, Crisp, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Terrell, Thomas, Seminole, and Worth counties.

This is a developing story. As FEMA releases more information the Dispatch will update our news report.
