CORDELE- The Crisp County High and Middle School softball teams each added another run-rule victory to their win totals on Monday afternoon. The varsity Lady Cougars got a four-inning no-hitter from Rilee Duckworth on their way to a 12-0 victory over Perry High School, while the CCMS Lady Cougars defeated Worth County 13-0, led by a perfect game from Olivia Bridges and a lot of contributions in the batting order.

CCHS 12, Perry High School 0

Perry’s leadoff batter in the top of the first inning reached base on a walk to start out the game, but the next batter lined out to Ainslee Forsythe, who then threw to Olivia Taylor at first base for a double play. Perry was unable to get another base runner for the remainder of the game. A strikeout from Duckworth ended the top of the first and the Lady Cougars took over the game with the bats.

Kirin Webb reached base with one out in the bottom of the first inning and Riley Blampied followed with a single and took second base on the relay throw, giving Crisp runners at second and third. Jo Brady came up next with a two-RBI single, and Taylor followed with an RBI double for a 3-0 Crisp County lead. Forsythe added an RBI hit later in the inning to give Crisp a 4-0 lead going into the second inning.

Crisp County added one run to their lead in the bottom of the third. Taylor led off the frame with a double to deep left field and made it over to third base shortly after on a passed ball. Macy West then picked up the RBI on a sacrifice fly to center field to score Taylor and put Crisp up 5-0.

The Lady Cougars finished the game up for a run-rule win by batting around in the bottom of the fourth. Shelbi Cobb drew a walk to start the inning and Megan Bloodworth hit a double to right center in the next at bat. Webb followed with a bunt attempt that led to an error, which allowed both of the runners to score. Perry intentionally walked Blampied, but Brady and Taylor each followed with RBI singles to bring the score out to 9-0. A one-out RBI double by Peyton Bozeman, followed by a sacrifice fly from Forsythe stretched the Crisp lead out to 11-0. Cobb then picked up the game ending RBI hit on a single for the 12-0 run-rule shortened win.

Taylor led the Lady Cougar batting lineup in the game, picking up three hits in three at bats with three runs scored and two RBIs. Brady had two hits in three at bats with three RBIs and two runs scored. Forsythe finished the game with two RBIs.

Duckworth picked up another win in the circle, pitching four hitless innings, while allowing just the one walk and striking out six batters.

The Lady Cougars are scheduled to play a big region double-header at Cook County on Thursday afternoon starting at 4 p.m. for their next games.

CCMS 13, Worth County 0

In Crisp County Middle School softball action from Monday afternoon, the Lady Cougars easily defeated Worth County 13-0. Olivia Bridges led the team to a victory by pitching a perfect game and picking up two RBIs and a triple with the bat. Other big contributors in the batting lineup for Crisp County were: Peyton Patrick (2-2, with a single, a double and two RBIs), Sydney Young (2-2, single and a double), Sara Ruth Raines (one hit and two RBIs), Addie Hobbs (1-1 with two walks), and Braylee Duckworth (1-1 with an RBI).
