Bonnie Pearce Allen, 94, of Lehigh, Florida, formerly of Cordele, Georgia, passed away on August 27, 2018. Born on October 15, 1923, in Wilcox County, Georgia, she was the oldest of eight children of the late Albert and Stella Pearce. She married Myron Herbert Allen, her husband of 64 wonderful years. They raised their four children in Cordele, Georgia.

Bonnie was an active, faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Cordele for over 40 years. She enjoyed her work at the Cordele Banking Company, where her colleagues became her life-long friends. In 1980, the couple retired to Florida. Her retirement was short lived as she continued her banking career at the First National Bank of Fort Myers. She was committed to her banking classes and enjoyed continuing education courses through the years. Bonnie was an avid reader and bridge player. The Allen home was always filled with family and friends and a backyard baseball or basketball game most afternoons. She showed a great interest in those around her, had a gift for making people feel special, and enjoyed a large circle of friends throughout her life. Known for her patience and tenacity, Bonnie was a strong and goal-oriented person. Above all, she was a loyal and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Allen Poole Tamer of Lehigh, FL., Brenda Allen Davenport (Ferrell) of Lehigh, FL., Marie Allen Miller Tripp (Robert Ashley Gray) of Bethlehem, GA., and son MH Allen, Jr. (Kathy) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren Donna Gunn (Chris) of Augusta, GA., Davis Poole (Laurie) of White, GA., Lisa Troxell of Perry, GA., Steve Davenport of Montrose, GA., Lee Miller III (Jennifer) of Tallahassee, FL., Bryan Miller (Gay) of Cartersville, GA., Bonnie Miller of Athens, GA., Abbey Watt (Wylie) of Thomasville, GA., and Megan Maner (Gordon) of Charleston, SC. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Other survivors are brothers Ashford Pearce (Tina), Wayne Pearce, sister Bobbie Wilson (Ron) and sister-in-law Ida Pearce, all of St. Simons Island, GA. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Stella Pearce; her husband Myron Allen, Sr.; her grandsons Ferrell Hollis Davenport and Allen Myron Davenport; brothers Thorwald Pearce, Austin Pearce, Elvin Pearce, and sister Mardria Pearce Blanton. Also predeceased are sons-in-law Davis Poole, Sr. and Thomas S. Tamer, Jr. Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, from 1:30 PM until time for the Funeral Service in the chapel at Rainey Family Funeral Services. The service will be held at 3:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Cordele, GA.
