Funeral services for James Phil Adkins of Vienna will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. Phil, 82, passed away  Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Crisp Regional Hospital.  Born in Crisp County, he was the son of the late James Moody Adkins and Margaret Virginia Barbre Adkins. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a farmer. Phil was a loving family member, enjoyed the outdoors, an avid hunter and an excellent horseman. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanie Reed Adkins of Vienna; two brothers and their wives, Moody Cromer and Cricket Adkins and Wayne and Carolyn Adkins all of Cordele; and a sister and her husband, Patricia and Harry Carter of Cordele.
