Cordele Police Department Reports May 18 through May 24

Friday, May 18
At 1:28 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 1215 East 16th Ave in reference to a retail theft. Upon arrival, police were advised that Henry Robert Brown, of Cordele, had taken an item from the store. Brown was arrested and charged with Theft By Shoplifting.
Saturday, May 19
At 11:00 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 501 E 16th Ave in reference to a suspicious person.
Saturday, May 20
At 2:16 p.m., Cordele Police were patrolling in the area of 20th Ave and Pecan St. when Henry White, of Cordele, who had a warrant out for his arrest, enter a white Dodge Caravan. Police executed a traffic stop on the vehicle at 20th Ave and Pecan St and arrested White.
Tuesday, May 22
At 10:21 a.m., Cordele Police responded to a dispatched call of a disturbance at 811 West 20th Ave. Upon arrival, the complainant, Denise Majors, stated that her boyfriend, Trodrick Allen, had been trying to kick her out even though she pays the lease. Witnesses confirmed that Allen hit Majors. Allen told police that Majors had hit him with a stick but there were no witnesses. Both were placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct. The Court date is set for July 9.
At 10:40 a.m., Cordele Police responded to Myra’s Produce at 814 E 16th Ave in reference to a reported theft. The complainant advised that someone has been taking her flowers at night.
At 10:43 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 405 West 21st Ave in reference to a disturbance. The complainant reported that her nephew, Tarrance Harris, of Cordele, had argued with her and damaged the screen door of her residence. Harris was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.
At 10:08 p.m., Cordele Fire Department responded to 1302 S Pecan St in reference to a toaster oven that allegedly turned itself on. Members of the fire department found no hazard, and unplugged the toaster oven. Cordele Police Department was called in to assist with observing the toaster oven.
Wednesday, May 23
At 8:12 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 1007 East 19th Ave in reference to an entering auto. The complainant stated someone had taken items out of her vehicle.
At 1:08 p.m., Cordele Police spotted a Blue Kia Sorento fail to yield at a yield sign.
Thursday, May 24
At 9:47 a.m., Cordele Police were dispatched to 707 W 20th Ave in reference to a Disturbance. Antonio Toomer, of Cordele, was arrested on the scene for Simple Battery charges.
