Fullington Academy athletes compete at GICAA state track meet

BARNESVILLE- The Fullington Academy track team competed at the Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association state track championships over the weekend in Barnesville. Fullington ended up finishing the meet with a state title in three different events between the girls’ and boys’ teams.
The Lady Trojans’ relay team consisting of Maddy McLeod, Lauren McIntyre, Skylar Bailey and Chantell Coley won the state title in the 4×100 meter relay event. Mackenzie Reed won the state title in the girls’ High Jump event with a jump of four feet, eight inches, and Lane Mitcham won the boys’ Long Jump state title with a jump of 19 feet 10 inches.
The Trojans finished in sixth place in the overall team point standings in the boys’ competition, while the Lady Trojans finished eighth in the girls’ team point standings. Other Fullington state results:
Girls’ Long Jump
Coley finished fourth in the state with a jump of 14’4”.
Girls’ 4×400 Meter Relay
The Lady Trojan team consisting of Coley, McLeod, Bailey and McIntyre finished sixth in the state with a time of 4:48.
Girls’ Triple Jump
Bailey finished in seventh with a distance of 30’3”.
Girls’ 300-Meter Hurdles
Bailey finished eighth in the state with a time of 57.67 seconds.
Girls’ 200 Meter
McLeod finished in eighth with a time of 29.00 seconds.
Boys’ Shot Put
Hunter Hughes finished as the state runner-up with a distance of 37’6.25”. Bo Jones finished eleventh in the state with a distance of 31’1”.
Boys’ High Jump
Jacob Cole finished in fourth place with a jump of 5’4”.
Boys’ Discus
Hughes finished fifth in the state with a throw of 96’.
Boys’ 4×100 Meter Relay
The Fullington team consisting of Lane Mitcham, Nikita Brown, Riley Reed and Jaden Harvey finished sixth in the state with a time of 47.72.
Boys’ 100 Meter
Harvey finished sixth in the state with a time of 11.72.
Boys’ 200 Meter
Harvey finished eighth in the state with a time of 25.36.
