Crisp Academy 3-AA region track meet results

CAMILLA- The Crisp Academy track teams competed at the GISA region 3-AA track meet on Wednesday at Westwood School in Camilla. The CA boys team finished ahead of Terrell Academy and Southwest Georgia Academy in the team point standings to claim the region runner-up spot, while Westwood won the title. Several Wildcats were able to qualify for the state meet to be held next week on Thursday-Saturday in Albany. Allie Brown won region in the girls’ 1600-meter race, but complete CA girls results were unavailable.
Results from some of the boys’ events:
400 Meter
Landon Jacobs won region and qualified for state meet with a time of 57.99 seconds.
Triple Jump
Baylor Pless finished third in the region with a distance of 37 feet 2.75 inches, while Noah Mercer placed fourth with a jump of 35 feet 10 inches. Both qualified for the state meet.
High Jump
Pless qualified for state by tying for third place with a jump of five feet six inches.
4×100 relay
The relay team consisting of Dylan Farmer, Landon Jacobs, Billy Harden and Pless qualified for state by finishing second in the race with a time of 48.23 seconds.
200 Meter
Jacobs finished fourth to qualify for state with a time of 25.19 seconds.
110-Meter Hurdles
John Ellis finished second with a time of 17.51 seconds.
300-Meter Hurdles
Ellis also qualified for state in the 300 meter hurdles after finishing in second with a time of 45.80.
800 Meter
Luis Martinez took second in region with a time of two minutes and 20 seconds, while Billy Hardin finished third at two minutes 23 seconds. Both qualified for the state meet.
1600 Meter
Martinez was the region runner-up with a time of five minutes and 21 seconds, while Hardin took fourth place with a time of six minutes 11 seconds. Both will participate at state in this event as well.
3200 Meter
Zach Atherton finished as the runner up with a time of 12 minutes and 36 seconds, while Reid McCard came up with a fourth place finish with a final time of 14 minutes and eight seconds. Both qualified for state.
4×400 Meter Relay
The Wildcat relay team consisting of Ellis, Martinez, Hardin and Jacobs came up with a second place finish at four minutes and two seconds to qualify for state.
