Update on GA 300 crash

CORDELE– On Monday, April 16 at approximately 6 p.m., nine people were involved in a car wreck on GA 300 next to Crisp Academy. All individuals are from Albany and survived the wreck with minimal injuries. All individuals were traveling in the same vehicle: a gold 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada. Only one passenger, Roger Ransom had serious enough injuries to have to be airlifted by Air-Evac to Navicent Health in Macon, Ga. The driver, Darrell Jenkins has been arrested for driving on a suspended license. No alcohol or drugs were involved. The vehicle was traveling Southbound in the right lane on GA 300 when the vehicle partially traveled into the left Southbound lane. The driver, Jenkins overcorrected to the right and the vehicle began rotating clockwise. The vehicle traveled approximately 52 feet in the right Southbound lane before traveling off the West edge of the roadway. The vehicle then traveled approximately 79 feet on the shoulder and began overturning. Four people were ejected from the car and one was partially ejected. Five of the passengers involved are minors so their names will not be released. The other four involved were Darrell Jenkins, Sherry Calloway, Ryneshia Mungo and Roger Ransom.
