Montravius Adams Day Celebrations in Hometown

The City of Vienna and the Dooly County School System are hosting a program and reception to honor Montravius Adams, a former resident of Vienna and former student athlete of Dooly County schools, who is now a defensive end for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers.
VIENNA, GA – February 27, 2018. The City of Vienna and the Dooly County School system welcome the public to a program celebrating Montravius Adams Day on Thursday, March 8,2018. The first portion of the program will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Dooly County High School gymnasium. The program will include a proclamation by the Vienna City Mayor, along with speakers including Adams himself, and the unveiling and retiring of his high school jersey. After his appearance at the high school, Adams will also visit students at the Dooly County Middle and Elementary schools.
A public reception to honor Adams will be held that same day at 5:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. at the Dooly County High School gymnasium. The community will have an opportunity to interact with Adams, and refreshments and cake will be served. This program and reception are free and open to the public.
In addition to the program on March 8, Adams is hosting a Kickball and Softball Play Date on Saturday, March 10. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Dooly County Rec Field. This event is for all ages, and teams are 10 people. Each winning team receives a $500 prize!
Montravius Adams, Defensive Tackle for the NFL Green Bay Packers, is a former Dooly County High School student athlete in Vienna, GA. The local star went on to shine for the Auburn Tigers, and was later drafted into the NFL by the Green Bay Packers. The 22-year-old has accomplished much in his life, on and off the field. He is also a devoted dad to his son Montravius Adams Jr. (MJ) with his high school sweetheart LaTeisha Gray. He is the proud son of Debbie Young, and brother to Sierra Young, Tierra Young, and Lonchella Adams; he is also supported by his god father Adam Langley and grandmother Lilly Kate Graville. Adams is excited to give back to his hometown and looks forward to all the celebrations!
