WILCOX COUNTY– Wilcox County Commissioners had a special called meeting on Tuesday, February 20. The meeting began with Wilcox County School Superintendent, Julie Childers, who made a request from the Board of Education for Commissioners to apply for Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant (LMIG) funds to extend 7^th St. in Rochelle to the new school site. The street extension would provide safer access to the school. The application is for $894.00. The Wilcox Board of Education agrees to provide the 10% cash match for the project. The Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the request to sign the application.

The next Wilcox County Commissioner meeting will be on March 6 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Commissioner’s meeting room of the Wilcox County Courthouse located at 103 N Broad St., Abbeville, Ga.
