Charlie Reese Hayslip Jr., 83, of Cordele passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at his residence. No service will be held but the family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Charlie was born in Cordele and was the son of the late Charlie Reese Hayslip, Sr. and Leila Mae Doggett Hayslip. A veteran of the United States Navy, Charlie had lived for many years in Sulphur, OK where he worked as a boiler maker at a power plant. He had returned to Cordele three years ago to live near family and to enjoy hunting and fishing. He is survived by his two daughters, Valerie Bracewell and her husband, Steve of Cairo and Susan Hayslip of Andersonville; grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Dru Usry of Savannah, Adrianne and Bobby Jones and Shannon and Jeremy Maxwell all of Whigham, Amber Cagle of Andersonville, and Robin and Adam Cox of Andersonville; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Slack, Kiersten Slack, Ansley Groves, Caden Maxwell, Colton Maxwell, Jasmine Dorsey, Aliyah Cox, Trevor Cape, Cameron Cox and Grayson Usry; a brother and his wife, Gary and Diane Hayslip of Cordele; sisters, Nell Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Leona Conn of Cordele, Peggy Culpepper and her husband, George of Florida, Ann Buchanan of Macon and Gail Tomberlin of Cordele. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Clinton Hayslip and Douglas Hayslip and two brothers-in-law, Mitch Conn and Wayne Buchanan. Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
