Funeral services for John Butterworth of Cordele will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with burial following in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. John  passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 at Crisp Regional Hospital.  He was born in Dooly County and was the son of Byron Randall and Dorothy Lavonne Holder Butterworth of Cordele. He was the motor shop manager at Cook Electric Co where he had been employed for over 30 years. John loved his family and the University of Alabama football team. He was an avid crappie fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sheila Butterworth of Cordele; two daughters, Amanda Butterworth of Cordele and Ashley Butterworth and her fiancé, Hunter, of Portal; three brothers and their wives, Bruce and Shelia Ann Butterworth of Vienna, Paul and Deven Butterworth of Ideal and Randy and Vickie Butterworth of Phenix City, AL.
