CORDELE — Police investigators here are searching for a suspect responsible for shooting two individuals outside a local business Tuesday evening.
According to reports from the Cordele Police Department, officers were dispatched to Sunset Food Mart, located at 503 West 24th Avenue. Reports indicate that two black males had been involved in a verbal altercation outside the establishment when one of them left and returned with a gun.
The the two exchanged more words before shots were fired one participant in the altercation and one bystander. One of the victims was shot in the leg and the other in the foot but neither were considered life-threatening. One victim was transported to Crisp Regional Hospital by Crisp County EMS while the other was transported in a personal vehicle.
The shooter fled the scene in a vehicle. As of press time the names of the victims had not been released. The Cordele Dispatch will continue to follow this story as more information is made available.
