Carlo Iachini

CORDELE, GA — Carlo Iachini, 83, died early Tuesdaymorning, June 13, 2017 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family may be contacted at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday evening.
Carlo, the son of the late Rocco Iachini and the late Maria Vincenza Francavillese Iachini, was a native of Easton, Penn. He is preceded in death by three wives: Katherine, Imogene and Molly; his daughter, Lynn Marie Mussey, and his sister, Anna Iachini.
He was an active member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church where he was the Senior Sunday School Class teacher. He also enjoyed assisting the church in preparing a prayer breakfast for Crisp Academy. He recently started a scholarship fund in honor of Carla Kendrick-Brown. The fund, “Steps to a Stethoscope”, is for Southland Academy students interested in pursuing the medical field.
Carlo never met a stranger and never encountered a problem he was not able to solve. He enjoyed researching history as well as working on his family’s genealogy. He was a generous man to many and donated to The Wounded Warrior Project by purchasing a wheelchair and hauling ramp for a wounded warrior. He also provided love and support to the Easton Children’s Home in Easton, Penn. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion. He served in the United States Navy for over 22 years as an aviation electronics technician chief, ATC (RET).
Carlo is survived by his loving wife: Mary Thompson Iachini of Cordele; his sons: Vincent (Leslie) Iachini of Powhatan, Va. and Gregory (Donna) Iachini of Somerset, N.J.; his brothers: Antonio (Theresa) Iachini of Easton, Penn. and Rocco (Nancy) Iachini, Jr., of Palmyra, Penn.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of step-children; and along with his furry friends, HOBO and SHADOW.
