Wallace Freeman Harris, 58, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The committal service will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Wallace was born in Cordele and was the son of the late Zack Harris and Polly Wallace Harris. He was the general manager of Harris Machine Company and attended the Vienna Church of God. Wallace was a simple man who loved life, his family and friends. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working in his yard and gardening. It’s told that he found his first straw hat hanging on a fence post one day while riding around. He put it on and wore one from that day forward. Wallace is survived by his wife of 21 years, Angela Johnson Harris of Cordele; two sons, Zachary Clinton Harris and Logan Freeman Harris, both of Cordele; a brother and his wife, Lee and Sharon Harris of Vienna; and a sister and her husband, Kathy and David Woodard of Ozark, AL.
