CORDELE/VIENNA — As part of a continued effort to bridge the gap between area young people and law enforcement police officers in Cordele and Vienna will be hosting events in their communities for kids heading back to school.
On Saturday, July 30 the Cordele Police Department will be hosting the Back to School Bash 2016 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Crisp Regional Hospital Park (Watermelon Park), located at the corner of 3rd Street and 3rd Avenue.
There will be lots of fun in the park which will include lunch. School supplies will also be available for students to help get the year started off right.
This event is free of charge and the Cordele Police Department would like to thank Pepsi, Harvey’s, the Sunshine Rhythms and the numerous volunteers for helping put on this event.
The Vienna Police Department will be hosting their Back to School Bash in the city’s downtown square (across from the Dooly County Courthouse) on Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Students returning to school in Dooly County can come enjoy food and games and also pick up needed supplies.
In Vienna children must be present to receive supplies (no exceptions). Students must also be accompanied by an adult (age 18 and up). Adults/children must sign and receive a sponsor card before receiving supplies and are only allowed to visit two sponsors of their choosing. All sponsor cards must be signed off on by two sponsors and returned.
Come out and enjoy the fun.
