CORDELE — New reports indicate that the driver of a semi truck that overturned last Friday was deceased before the truck crashed.

According to Crisp County Coroner Jimmy Rainey, the body of 47-year old Eugene Gleaton of Riverdale, Georgia was sent for autopsy following the accident, which took place at around 2:24 a.m. Friday, July 8 at mile marker 103 on I-75.

Autopsy results indicate that Gleason died of a massive heart attack, which caused the truck to lose control and overturn. The semi blocked all three lanes of traffic and it took about 2 ½ hours to clear the roadway. Georgia State Patrol Post 30 handled the investigation.
