MICHAEL ANTHONY SAVAGE

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, a Crisp County Jury found Michael Anthony Savage guilty

of the offenses of Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm

During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon related to

the shooting death of Kenneth Armstrong. Savage, a 31 year old from Cordele, was sentenced to

to a composite sentence of LIFE WITHOUT PARO LE plus a CONSECUTIVE TEN YEARS TO

SERVE in the Georgia Depaiiment of Correction.

The convictions stemmed from events that occurred in the evening hours of June 9, 2019,

near the intersection of Roosevelt Street and Ingram Boulevard in Omar Heights in Crisp County.

Armstrong was called to the area by Savage and when Armstrong arrived to the residence where

Savage lived with his girlfriend, Savage shot Armstrong eight times as Armstrong sat in his

vehicle. After being shot, Armstrong’s vehicle drove into the ditch. Upon law enforcement’s

arrival, Savage had left the area and was arrested by law enforcement in Dooly County two days

later. The GB! and Crisp County Sheriffs Office jointly investigated the death of Armstrong.
