Mrs. Sylvia Odell went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Monday, November 11, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Clark and Frances Doster of Americus. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Sylvia was a kind, generous and loving soul, and was loved and liked by all those who knew her. She was retired from Robins AFB in Warner Robins. She loved doing all types of needle work and sharing the things she made with her family and friends She loved music and enjoyed singing in the church choir when she was able, and attending Blue Grass Festivals with her husband. She liked working in the yard and had a generous heart for the feral cats in the neighborhood.
Sylvia is survived by her husband of 66 years, David B. Odell of Cordele; a sister, Judy Rainey of Cordele; three children, Richard Odell (Wanice) of Carrollton, Randy Odell (Sheila) of Warner Robins, Susan Bennett (Dean) of Cordele; seven grandchildren, Richard Odell, Jr. of Orlando, FL, Scott Odell of Powder Springs, Jessica Miranda Odell of Bonaire, Brian Odell of Eatonton, Hannah North of Carrollton, Kelsey Odell and Seth Odell, both of Warner Robins; several great-grandchildren; and four nephews and nieces, Jamie Lee of Macon, Wesley Rainey (Tina) of Cordele, Cindy Clifton (Teddy) of Ashburn and Angela Outlaw (Tony) of Caryville, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Sylvia will be laid to rest in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
