It was a glorious day to be out on the lake, and that’s where the Girl Scouts were located cleaning up Lake Blackshear riverfront on a lovely Saturday morning. The Rivers Alive program was hosted by the Crisp County Chamber of Commerce, and the whole community can be sure that the Girl Scouts were there to take care of business. Lake Blackshear is a very popular site for travellers from around the country. And with such a high volume of activity, there’s sure to be a lot of people who forget to pick up their trash. Fortunately for us, the Girl Scouts were there to enhance the area by picking up and disposing of the trash. On this day, the girls who are in the first, second, and third grades picked up about 25 large garbage bags full of trash! Everyone in Crisp County has reason to be proud of these girls. With this type of dedication, you are certain to see them grow into leaders of this community in the future.
