Biblical Faith…Part One

Biblical words and terms have been pirated and re-defined through history by the carnally minded, unregenerate, worldly thinkers. In order for the “like God” lie to be propagated through false religion or heresy, culturally acceptable definitions must replace biblical truth. However, God’s Word must be understood according to original divine revelation and should never be filtered through social and cultural changes. The unfortunate truth is that many who profess to know Christ rely on others to tell them how and what they should believe and their self-perceived understanding is nothing more than socially acceptable religion that has man at its center and God as provider of all things that are considered as good in the estimation of man.
The word “Faith” is a prime example. Mankind defines faith in many ways. Faith is sometimes described as having a positive attitude, refusal to accept the negative, keeping a hopeful outlook in the face of adversity, or persuading or convincing yourself to believe something difficult or unbelievable. It is believed that faith is a mindset, a resolve, a disposition, or just plain stubbornness that causes a person to plant their feet and refuse to budge. Sometimes it is defined as having confidence in a person or thing, or expecting a desired outcome.
In today’s world of tolerance and acceptance, the word “faith” is mostly used as a term to describe any system of religion or religious practice. The terms “all faiths”, or “many faiths”, or “other faiths”, are socially and culturally acceptable ways of describing any religion or religious affiliation with no consideration or concern of what they may stand for or represent and gives equal credence and validity to all: hence, “the lie.” In order for this notion or idea to be believed or supported, one must deny that the Bible is the absolute, pure, and true revelation of God and must also reject it’s authority over mankind and all of creation. To support the notion that “other faiths” can bring a person to God is to reject the testimony of Scripture. Ephesians 4:3-6 declares that there is only one Spirit, one body, one hope, one faith, one Baptism, one Lord, and one God. In the book of Acts, chapter 4, verses 10-12, the Apostle declares that there is salvation in no other name than Jesus Christ and that His name is the only name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. In John 14:6, Jesus testified, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” God’s Word leaves no place for opinions of men or debates. All true children of God must and will stand on the firm foundation of the truth of God’s Word. If you are truly saved, it is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
