A memorial service for Teresa Joy McGinnis “Mimi”, 61, of Cordele will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Penia Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Ryan officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.. The family may also be contacted Monday beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the residence of Paula Faye Owens at 799 Old Hatley Road, Cordele. Teresa passed into the arms of Jesus Saturday,  August 10, 2024. Born in Perry, she was the daughter of the late Ellis Wayne Fultz and Patricia Ann Shugart Fultz. Teresa was retired from working in customer service in several offices in Cordele. She loved her Lord, and her church, Penia Baptist. She enjoyed being outdoors and working in her yard. She was a strong competitive athlete and loved playing softball and basketball. Watching TV and drinking coffee was a big part of her day. Teresa loved people and enjoyed socializing whether it be at Walmart, Harvey’s or somewhere in between. She always wore a big smile and a had word for everyone that she met. Most of all she loved her big family, especially her grandchildren and the time she was able to spend with them. Teresa is survived by three daughters, Kayla Powell (Matt) of Kathleen, Joy Fultz (Jeff) of Abbeville and Dina Wilkes (Fred) of Cordele; three sisters, Ginger Turner, Shannon Fultz and Carol Wilkes (Ray), all of Cordele; seven grandchildren, Angela Jones, Alexis Butterworth, Haley Bolton, Peyton Clark, Fred Wilkes, Jr. Leilah Powell and Julia Klatt; one great-granddaughter, Baylor Beavers; and several, aunts, uncles and cousins.
