Today we remember.
1 year ago today at 3:40a.m., Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, all of Crisp County, and law enforcement across out country were struck news of evil infiltrating our home.
Crisp County Deputy Sheriff Tyee Browne went to check on a car in the middle of the roadway near the 1300 block of Highway 280 West, Cordele, GA. The history of the car came back as stolen. Whilst Deputy Browne checked the car, the occupant shot the deputy. The subject then took the deputy’s patrol car and sped away from the scene. Crisp County EMS took Deputy Browne to Crisp Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
This Medal of Honor was presented to Tyee’s mother in Washington D.C. at the peace officers memorial. It represents the supreme sacrifice.
