75th Annual Watermelon Festival kicks off with ribbon cutting

The Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to kick off the 75th Annual Watermelon Festival that will take place Saturday June 22, 2024 at Georgia Veterans State Park.
The welcome was given by Chamber Chairman, Tim Powers, invocation done by David Simmons. We then heard from the presenting sponsor representative, Jeremy Register from AgGeorgia Farm Credit, who touched on the importance of supporting the community and agriculture in Crisp County. Tim Powers also welcomed the the Watermelon Capital Queen, Ava Wilkinson who introduced all the watermelon queens of 2024.
