Dana Cheri “Peach” Slade went home to be with her Lord surrounded by her
family on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the age of 41 years due to Alzheimer's
Disease.
Peach was born on June 1, 1982, in Sumter County, Georgia, to Gregory Felder
Slade and Cheri Collins Slade.
Peach was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Harold and Elsie Slade, her
maternal grandparents Thurmond and Christine Collins, Aunt Teresa Jean Slade,
Uncle Lindsey Collins, Aunt Darlene Collins, and one second cousin Abigail
Grace Slade. She is survived by her brother Rob (Adrienne) Slade, two nephews
Everett and Reid Slade, and one niece Etta Slade. She is also survived by many
loving aunts, uncles, and cousins to the fourth generation, including her second
cousin, Judah Benjamin Slade, who also has Down Syndrome.
Peach not only had special needs as a person with Down Syndrome, Peach was
simply special. Rather than sharing her personal accomplishments and attributes, it
is with great joy that we express our deepest gratitude first to God for the gift of
Peach, then to each and every person who has poured into her extraordinary life.
You have come along beside her and her family and helped her to reach her
potential as a beautiful, Jesus loving, leopard wearing, quick-witted, party going,
young lady.
Services for Peach will be held at Hughes & Wright Funeral Home at 11 a.m.,
Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2024 at
the funeral home.
Online condolences may be left at www.hughesandwright.com. Hughes & Wright
Funeral Home is entrusted with these arrangements.
