It’s truly humbling to hear the Georgia House of Representatives pay tribute to several remarkable Georgians by commemorating their legacy through the dedication of intersections and highways, including our esteemed Deputy Tyee Browne. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Representative Noel Williams for presenting HR 996, “Deputy Tyee Browne Memorial 1.7 Miles.” We look forward to Senator Summers endorsing the bill as it progresses to the Senate.
The House Committee on Transportation offers the following substitute to HR 854:
PART VII
133 WHEREAS, Deputy Tyee Browne was highly regarded by the citizens of his community and
134 state and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity and dedication
135 to the sound principles of law enforcement; and
136 WHEREAS, Deputy Browne diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of
137 his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced
138 dramatically by his superlative service as a deputy in Crisp County, Georgia; and
139 WHEREAS, Deputy Browne led an exceptional career of public service, always putting
140 public safety and the citizens of Crisp County first, and his inspiring commitment to the
141 welfare of others stands as a shining example of the positive effect law enforcement
142 professionals have on the lives and well-being of others; and
143 WHEREAS, Deputy Browne made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on July 5, 2023,
144 leaving an indelible mark on the community as a pillar of unwavering courage, integrity, and
145 selflessness in the pursuit of justice; and
146 WHEREAS, Deputy Browne exhibited extraordinary devotion to public service, outstanding
147 loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of his duties, and it is
148 abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be recognized
149 appropriately by dedicating a road in his memory.
