The Crisp Horseshoe Club kicked off the 2016 season on Tuesday of this week and had a good crowd of 12 pitchers there to enjoy a beautiful spring evening “pitching” together. Tom Carter, who comes down from Ft. Valley to pitch with us, was the only 3 game winner and is in first place. Five pitchers won two games each and are tied for second place. Larry Myers had high ringer game with a 65% (26 ringers out of 40 shoes). Jim Henderson had high handicap game with a 125. Our club is supposed to host the first tournament of the year for the Ga Horseshoe Pitchers Association on this Saturday March 19th, weather permitting. There will be 40 to 50 pitchers from all over Ga(and one or two from Fla) here to compete and try to win a state class champion title.
We welcome anyone, at any age to come out to Turner Park on 3rd St South here in Cordele on Tuesdays at 6 pm and join in the fun of pitching horseshoes. We do a handicap scoring system so everyone has a fair chance of winning. Annual dues are only $5 and we can loan you shoes to try your hand. It is good exercise, good fun with a lot of good folks.
