James Ronald “Ronnie” Fuller, 76, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Crisp Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ronnie was born and raised in Cordele, the son of the late Olan Bryant Fuller and the late Nannie Dorough Fuller. He is preceded in death by two sisters and their husbands, Faye and Buddy Childs and Carolyn and Jack Musselwhite. After graduating from Crisp County High School in 1961 he went to work with the Harris Group. During that time, he took a break from Harris’s to  serve in the United States Army as an MP in Germany. After military service, Ronnie returned to work with Harris Group and enrolled in Georgia Southwestern State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. During his 32 years with Harris, Mr. Ronnie worked his way up from an entry level position to the office of plant manager and vice president. After retiring from Harris, he joined Cordele Metal Works as the company Vice President. There he enjoyed 20 years of leadership, guiding and mentoring the management team and employees. Throughout his life he was active with civic activities; Cordele Kiwanis Club, Board of Directors for Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors at Crisp Academy, and most recently serving his 19th year on the Crisp County Board of Equalization. Ronnie was devoted to his church family at Cordele First United Methodist Church and he loved his friends in the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class. In his formative years, he was an avid outdoorsman, but his greatest joy in life was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He travelled many memorable miles sightseeing with his grands, but his favorite times were spent riding country roads with a grandchild sitting on a stack of books to see over the steering wheel while he taught them how to drive from the passenger seat. Even though he knew it was highly unlikely they would pass any cars, he would keep them focused on the road by advising them to “look tall” should they pass a Georgia Patrolman.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Anne Howard Fuller of Cordele; two sons and their wives, Steven and Paige Fuller of Watkinsville and Lance and Susan Fuller of Cordele;  five grandchildren, Dixie Fuller, Abbie Fuller and Bo Fuller, all of Cordele, and Will Fuller and Luke Fuller, both of Watkinsville; brother and sister in law Olan and Hulda Fuller of Cordele, sister and brother in law Oscar and Mary Ann Gilliam of Americus; brother in law and sister in law Billy and Jeanne Howard of Jackson’s Gap, Alabama; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
