The Cordele Rotary Club, which has temporarily halted its publicly-held meetings along with other civic groups during the coronavirus pandemic, donated 30 meals to staff at Crisp Regional Hospital this week and is challenging other civic groups and clubs to do the same.
“We’ll be doing this each week until we resume our regular meeting schedule,” said Cordele Rotary Club President Lauren Fletcher. “This is an easy way for us to support a local restaurant and our frontline healthcare workers, and we’re challenging the Lions and Kiwanis clubs and all other local civic organizations to do the same.”
Crisp Regional Hospital’s Brooke Marshall said this week’s donation from the Rotary Club was enjoyed by the hospital’s operating room and anesthesia departments and will rotate future lunch donations among other departments as they continue their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Civic group members who want to match Cordele Rotary Club’s weekly lunch challenge can coordinate through Marshall by calling her at 229-276-3110.
