A graveside service for Don Edwin Williford, 78 of Cordele, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Arabi Cemetery. The family will speak with friends following the service. Don passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at his residence. Born in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Harvey Rosier Williford and Thelma Wade Williford. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Williford, Jimmy Williford and Ted Williford.

Don was a farmer and loved all the outdoors, planting and watching his efforts grow. He served as president of the Crisp County Farm Bureau for 30 years and attended Hatley Baptist Church. In his younger days he loved to hunt and fish but his greatest joy came from his family, especially his grandchildren.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gynelle Wade Williford of Cordele, four children, Linda Spradley and Julie Childers and her husband, Dale, all of Cordele, Virginia McLeod and her husband, Jim of Butte, MT and Don Williford, Jr. and his wife, Debra of Vienna; grandchildren, Dawn Spradley, Katie Childers, Kelly Childers, Kristi Childers, Becky Barrett and Maura Bloodworth; two great-grandchildren, Lexie Barrett and Blaine Barrett; and his two fur babies, Sam and Precious. Memorial donations to the Crisp County Steer and Market Hog Show, c/o Crisp County Farm Bureau, P.O. Box 183, Cordele, Georgia 31010 would please the family.
