CORDELE — James “Jimmy” Edward Williams, 63, of Cordele died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Jimmy was born in Cordele to Patricia Peele Banks and Ed Kiker Williams. He was a member of Cordele First Baptist. He was the owner of Williams Sales where he was known for his honesty in business dealings, where many folks knew him as simply “The Belt Man.” He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a great dancer!
He is survived by his mother: Pat P. Banks of Charlotte, N.C.; his father Ed Kiker Williams and his wife Marylene of Cordele; and his sisters: Claire W. Wilson of Matthews, N.C. and Rebecca W. Thomas of Durango, Colo.
Jimmy was beloved by all his family and will be sorely missed.
