Five arrested in mini storage burglary investigation

Law enforcement officers with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office have arrested four Crisp County residents and a Wilcox County woman as part of its investigation into a burglary at Turton Mini Storage that occurred on Oct. 2, according to an agency press release.
On October 2, 2019 deputies and investigators responded to 1212 13th Ave. East, Turton Mini Storage, to investigate a burglary. The victim reported missing shoes, DVDs and games, cooking appliances, dishes, and clothing valued at $104,290.00. CCSO SFC Cole Eason began his investigation and on October 4, 2019, Joseph Allen Williams, age 20 of Cordele, was arrested for burglary.
Further information was later obtained and an address was discovered on the whereabouts of the property taken. On October 11, 2019, a search warrant was obtained and executed for a residence in Cordele. The search warrant produced items taken from this burglary, and also produced items taken from two burglaries reported to the Cordele Police Department. Bruce Carmichael, age 57 of Cordele, was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property. April Peacock, age 38 of Cordele, was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property.
On October 12, 2019, deputies spotted the vehicle believed to be involved in the burglary. Deputies and CCSO Investigator Ben Bray located the driver of the vehicle. Cassandra Sapp of Rochelle, Ga. was arrested for burglary. On October 14, 2019, Cody Hitson was arrested by Cordele Police Department.
