Funeral services for Janie Howell Terry of Grantville will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the committal service following at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday beginning at 3 p.m.

Janie, 82, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Carlton Terry. Born in Wilcox County, she was the daughter of the late James Otis Howell and VeEsta Jones Howell. Janie was retired from the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta and a member of Lithia Springs Baptist Church. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and in her younger years she was a champion bowler. Her greatest passion in life though was her grandson, Stephen. Janie is survived by a son and his wife, Timothy “Tim” and JoAnn Terry of Grantville; her grandson, Stephen Terry of Grantville; three sisters and their husbands, Jeannine Reynolds of Pitts, Jean Marie and Charlie Gregory of Vienna, and Cathy and LaDon Willis of Pitts; and several nieces and nephews.
