Clinch County 47 Dooly County 12
The Dooly County Bobcats fell to a 47-12 defeat at home against the defending class A state champions Clinch County on Friday night in Vienna. Dooly fell to 0-3 so far on the season with the defeat.
Zepha Hill and Shamon Zanders each had one touchdown on the night for the Bobcats.
Dooly County has this upcoming Friday night off, and following that their next game will be on Friday, Sept. 27th against region 4-A opponent Schley County (1-2).
Lanier Christian 28 Fullington Academy 20
Fullington Academy’s football team fell to 1-3 on the season with a 28-20 home defeat against Lanier Christian Academy of Flowery Branch on Friday night.
Carson Godfrey and Jack McLeod led the way for the Fullington Trojan offense on the night. Godfrey finished the game with 15 completions on 25 pass attempts for 221 yards and three touchdowns. McLeod carried the ball nine times for 42 yards for the Trojans, and caught eight passes for 140 yards and three scores. Shiloh Kehayes pitched in with 11 carries for 42 yards on the night, while Anders van Assendelft had six catches for 76 yards.
Fullington’s leading defensive contributors on the night: Rivers Smith- 12 tackles and one fumble recovery; Josh Hendrix- eight tackles and one forced fumble; Chase Smith- five tackles and one sack.
The Trojans will play their homecoming game on Friday night versus Central Fellowship Christian Academy (3-1) starting at 7:30 p.m.
