State troopers now believe 31-year-old Travis Waters and 28-year-old Ashley Glenn may be on the run.
The circumstances surrounding the death of a 54-year-old Cordele woman, who died after she was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Joe Wright Dr. and 26th Ave. at around 8:45 Sunday evening, keep getting stranger.
Authorities announced on Wednesday that a 28-year-old Cordele woman turned herself in to the Cordele Police Department and confessed to being behind the wheel when the fatal accident occurred. Further investigation revealed she was not being truthful, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper William Cope, and investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Travis Waters for vehicular homicide.
Cope said that Waters and the 28-year-old woman, named Ashley Glenn, are believed to be on the run from authorities. Trooper Cope said that when he reached Glenn by phone Thursday evening in an attempt to take Waters into custody, Glenn refused to cooperate, and State Patrol investigators are now searching for the couple, who may be traveling together in a gold Pontiac Grand Am bearing a license plate reading RJC 1690.
Anyone with information about Glenn and Waters’ whereabouts should call the Georgia State Patrol at 229-386-3333 or call 911.
