Funeral services for Thomas Michael Glenn, Sr. of Cordele were held in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services at 4 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2019 with Rev. Eric Eidennire officiating.
Three pre-recorded songs were played during the service: “See You Again” “He Walked On Water” and “Daddy’s Hands.” The recessional was “High Tech Red Neck.” Pallbearers were Joshua Smith, Lily Smith, Ashley Glenn, Eddie Williams,. Jamal Williams, Robert Smith, James Ellis and Johnathan Glenn. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Mike, as he was affectionately known, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon. He was born in Mims, FL and was the son of the late Walter Henry Glenn and Eva Elizabeth Taylor Glenn.. Mike was a retired diesel mechanic and a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He enjoyed life and having fun wherever he went, and had a word and a smile for all that he met. He loved hunting and “The Young and The Restless.” Most of all he loved his family and being able to take care of them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Sue Glenn of Cordele; six children, Mary Haynie, Dawn (Robert) Smith, Michael Glenn, Jr., Jackie (Jamal) Williams and Misty Glenn, all of Cordele, and Brenda and Doug Cross of Humble, Texas; eight grandchildren, Ashley Glenn, Johnathan Glenn, Dalton Glenn, Joshua Smith, Lily Smith, Imiya Harris, C.J. Harris and Taylor Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Trey Glenn, Trent Glenn and Leona Glenn.
