H. Michael Calhoun, 66, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away suddenly at his home on May 20, 2019.
Mike is a native of Cordele, Georgia and moved to Jackson County in 1995 where he worked as a registered nurse until retiring to work with his wife, Dr. Jana Calhoun. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a freemason. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many happy hours boating, fishing, and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Herbert Calhoun, and grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jana Calhoun; daughter, Shelby Jackson-Fox [Carlos], grandsons, Juan and Joao Tavares; mother and stepfather, Jean and Dale Kelley. Sister, Judy Cape. Brothers, Scotty Calhoun[Candi], Dale Kelley II [Danyal], Tim Kelley [Ami] and numerous well loved nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephews. He will greatly missed as brother, uncle Mike and most especially “sweet baby”.
Memorial services will be announced by James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Partners for Pets. Mike was a huge dog lover and will be missed greatly by his bulldogs Calhi and Jasmine.
