Funeral services for John Carlton Adkins of Arabi will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Arabi Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday beginning at 2 p.m.

John passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.  Born in Cordele, he was the son of the late Julian William Adkins and Edna Lois Tucker Adkins. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Weldon. He was a farmer and was a sales rep/truck driver for Star Gas Company for many years and a member of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Triple River Old Iron Club and the Crisp County Farm Bureau.

John is survived by his wife of 46 years Genell Pipkin Adkins; two sons and their wives, Lee and Kelly Adkins of Dawsonville and Earl and Jamie Adkins of Santa Claus, IN; a brother, J.W. Adkins of Vienna; and five grandchildren, Charley King, Caylee Adkins, Aubry Adkins, Austyn Adkins and Laney Adkins.
