A graveside service for John Alfred Barefoot, Sr. of Seville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Seville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services prior to the service beginning at 10 until 10:45 a.m.

Alfred, 79, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Walters Barefoot, and two granddaughters, Jessica Gustin and Tiffany Gustin. Born in Wilcox County, he was the son of the late Bishop and Sadie Louise King Barefoot. Alfred was retired but had been employed in the maintenance department of Heartland Industries. He loved time with his family and some hunting and fishing. His passion though was building. He loved designing and building cabinets, storage buildings, shelves, anything he could use a piece of wood for.

Alfred is survived by his children, Johnny Barefoot and his wife, Cheryl of Seville, Jackie Jones of Cordele and Donnie Barefoot and his wife, Jodie of Fitzgerald;  four sisters, Joyce Pomahatch of Tifton, Charlotte McInvale of Albany, Brenda Jett of Stockbridge and Katie Gardner of Cumming;  two grandchildren, Josh Barefoot and his wife, Randi of Seville and D.J. Barefoot of Fitzgerald; six great-grandchildren, Logan McSwain, Keegan Tucker, Mayleigh Gustin, Ryleigh Gustin, Brandlee Wilcox, Anna Barefoot, Chandler Barefoot and Cason Barefoot.
