Funeral services for Robert Scott DeVane, Sr. of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Scott passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at his residence.  He was preceded in death by his father, Frank DeVane and his daughter, Ashley McVeigh. Born in Cordele, he was the son of Frank and Janet Gregory DeVane. He was the owner and operator of A&D Tires and a member of the Lion’s Club. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed mud boggin’ and working on trucks. His greatest joy though was his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by the love of his life and soon-to-be wife, Stella Gee of Cordele; the mother of his children, Ann DeVane of Cordele; his children, Amanda (Joel) Jones of Tifton, Debra (Tyler) Harden of Arabi, and Robert (Kristi) DeVane, Jr., Sierra DeVane, Michelle (Jamie) Turner, Nikki McVeigh and Jay (Tammy) McVeigh, all of Cordele;  his mother, Janet DeVane of Cordele;  and two brothers, Ricky DeVane and Randy (Robyn) DeVane. Scott was blessed with nine wonderful grandchildren: Clay Harden, Delylah Jones, Cole Harden, Kirkland Turner, Madison Jones, Zachary Yawn, Alley McVeigh, Emily McVeigh and Trey McVeigh, and all were looking forward to, Savannah DeVane in August.
