Betty Lou Gibbs of Cordele passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at The Lodge in Warner Robins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard T. Gibbs. A graveside service for Betty will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Penia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services.

Betty, 80, was born in Albany to the late Luthur Griffin and Ruby Massey Griffin.  She was an aid in the healthcare field and a member of Hatley Baptist Church. She loved to sing and enjoyed being a part of the choir. Being a friend, helping others and loving animals made her happy. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, loved traveling and was an avid reader.

Betty is survived by her children, Linda Mathis (Rick Boggs) of Cordele, Patsy (Steve) Sims of Bonaire and Bill Gibbs (Donna Taylor) of Pineview; six grandchildren, Ray (Cassie) Breedlove, Bryan (Barbara) Breedlove, Steven Breedlove, Holly Easom, Michael Sims and Julie Gibbs; and 10 great-grandchildren.
