The GHSA region 1-AAA coaches recently put together their All-Region basketball teams for the 2018-2019 season, and Crisp County High School had eight athletes selected for the region honors.

The Crisp County High School boys’ team is well represented on the 1-AAA All-Region teams, with five total selections.

Crisp senior Tubby Spivey split the region’s Defensive Player of the Year award with a player from Monroe High. Crisp County’s final stat sheet for the season had Spivey second on the team in total rebounds (4.1 average per game), assists, and blocks per game. He also averaged 5.4 points per game, and 1.5 steals per game on the season.

CCHS junior Ty McKenzie was Crisp’s other first team All-Region selection on the boys’ side. He finished as the leading rebounder (7.3 per game) and shot blocker (1.5 per) this season for the Cougars, while also ending up second in points per game (10.2). McKenzie also pitched in an average of 1.5 steals and 1.3 assists on the season.

Crisp County guards KJ Williams (Sr.) and PJ Coleman (Soph.) were both picked for the region’s second team. Williams led the Cougars in scoring (11.2 points per game) and steals (1.8 per) on the season. Coleman led the Cougars in assists this season with just over two per game, was second in steals (1.6 per game), and was also the third leading scorer for Crisp with an average of 9.7 points per game.

CCHS senior Malik Hall was selected for a region 1-AAA honorable mention spot. He finished the season as the Cougars’ fourth leading scorer (7.3 points per game) and fourth leading rebounder (3.4 average).

On the girls’ side, three Crisp County Lady Cougars were picked for region honors, led by first team selection Aaliyah Hardemon. She averaged 6.5 points per game to lead the Lady Cougars this season, while also leading the team in assists, and finishing second on the squad in steals with an average of just over two per game.

Crisp County’s E’lacious Holt (Jr.) and Peyton Bozeman (Fr.) were both picked as honorable mentions for the 1-AAA girls’ All-Region team.

Bozeman finished as the second leading scorer for the Lady Cougars this season with an average of 5.7 points per game. Holt averaged 5.6 points per game for Crisp County this season for third on the team in scoring, and she also finished second on the team in total rebounds per game.
