Funeral services for Silvia Garcia of Cordele will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with Rev. Elias Collado and Rev. Edwin Collado officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Silvia, 75,  passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at her residence. She was a native of Cuba and the daughter of the late Manuel Garcia and Eva Garcia Monzon.  Silvia was a para-pro (RET) in the Crisp County School System and an active member of the Nuevo Pacto Congregation of Cordele First United Methodist Church. She loved her Lord, lived for Him and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed gardening, nurturing plants and bringing them to all their beauty and glory. Her passion though was her family, loving them and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children and their spouses, a daughter, Mercedes Spires Garcia and Wes Spires of Cordele and a  son, Ruben and Elizabeth Garcia of Port Charlotte, FL;  a sister, Eva Garcia of Cuba; four grandchildren, Kris Herrick and his wife, Tara, Nik Herrick and his wife, Danielle, all of Cordele, Isabella Garcia and Braxton Garcia, both of Florida; and four great-grandchildren, Riley Herrick, Eva Mae Herrick, Caleb Herrick and Hunter Herrick.
