All of the area boys’ and girls’ high school basketball teams played important region games during this week.
The boys’ teams for Crisp Academy and Crisp County both got big wins on Tuesday night against region rivals. Recaps from those games can be read using the links below:

Wilcox sweeps Echols County
Both of Wilcox County’s High School teams added home wins to their records over region opponent Echols County on Tuesday night.
The Lady Patriots defeated Echols 73-59 and moved to 12-6 overall with the win. Their region record stood at 8-3 after the victory, and that currently has them in at third place in the regular season region standings behind Telfair County (first place in region, 14-3 overall, 11-0 region record) and Clinch County (second, 12-2 overall, 7-1 in region).
The Patriots knocked off Echols County on the night 63-46 to move to 17-1 overall on the season.
Wilcox stats from the win over Echols: Markavian Singletary- 17 points, one rebound, four assists and five steals; Christian Freeman- 14 points, three rebounds, four assists, and three steals; Desmond Tisdol- eight points and three rebounds; Chrisabian Marshall- six points, three rebounds, one assist, and three steals; Monterrius Edmond- four points, two rebounds, one assist and four steals; Logan McSwain- four points and one rebound; Jordan Brown- three points, three assists, and two steals; Demetric Young- three points and two steals; Keyshawn Howard- two points, two assists, and one steal; Cameron Patterson- two points and one rebound; Curtis Leflore- three rebounds and one steal; Alexander Ramsey- two rebounds, one assist and one steal; Arquavious Miller- one rebound and one steal; Azavion Deans- one rebound and one assist; Jakail Crowder- one assist and one steal.
The win put the Patriots at 11-0 in region, which has them in first place in the regular season standings still with five region games to play.
Both Wilcox teams play on the road at Irwin County on Saturday night starting at 6 p.m.
Bobcats edge Crawford County
Dooly’s teams both went on the road and defeated Crawford County on Tuesday night.
The Lady Bobcats easily defeated Crawford 70-41 for their 12th win in a row. Dooly’s girls had a 13-3 overall record (9-2 record in region 4-A play) with the win and they were in third place in the region behind Marion and Greenville after Tuesday’s results.
The Bobcats won their game against Crawford 71-66 led by a big effort from Rashad Lucas.
The Bobcat stat sheet in the win over Crawford went as follows: Lucas- 24 points,10 rebounds and two blocks; Jeff Felton- 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists; Reggie Smith- nine points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals; Shamon Zanders- eight points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal; Eric Ivory- eight points, one assist, and two steals; Zeff Felton- seven points, 15 rebounds, two assists, three steals and five blocks; Towandi King- three points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal; Seve Sutton- four rebounds and two assists; Zyquavion Wright- one rebound and one assist.
The Bobcats ran their overall record to 11-5 (8-2 in region) with the win, leaving them in third place behind Macon County and Marion.
Dooly’s teams are both scheduled for two region home games this weekend, versus Brookstone tomorrow starting at 5 p.m. followed by Perry High School on Saturday night starting at 6 p.m.
Fullington teams fall to CCA
Fullington’s teams dropped road region games against Citizens Christian Academy on Tuesday night. The Lady Trojans were defeated on the night 53-13, while the Trojans lost a close one to CCA by a final score of 55-52.
The Lady Trojans fell to 3-13 overall on the season with an 0-4 mark in region with the loss, while the Trojans went to 4-10 overall and 1-3 in region with Tuesday night’s defeat to CCA.
Both Fullington teams are scheduled for more region action in their next two games, tomorrow night at home against Highland Christian starting at 6 p.m. and Tuesday night at Grace Christian Academy also at 6 p.m.
