Donald Wayne Martin, 79, former administrator and CEO of Crisp Regional Hospital, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Cordele First United Methodist Church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services in Cordele. Wayne was born in Hahira and was the son of the late Homer T. Martin and Alma Barfield Martin.   He was employed by Colquitt Regional Medical Center of Moultrie from 1976 through Spring of 1986 when he accepted a position as CEO of Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele and faithfully served there for over 24 years. During his tenure there, he endeavored to maintain a relationship with each and every employee. He cared deeply for the entire hospital staff. He retired in November of 2010 and remained on the hospital board until November 2018. During his career he served Georgia Hospital Association in many capacities. He was elected chairman of the organization in 1998. He was deeply concerned with rural health care in Georgia and worked diligently to ensure the best care possible for all Georgians. Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wilma Nesbit Martin of Cordele; two daughters, Sandra Martin Jones and her husband, Danny of Hahira and Robin Gayle Martin of Daytona Beach, FL; two grandchildren, William Martin Jones and Molly Gayle Jones; a brother, Tony Homer Martin and his wife, Sybil of Hahira; a sister, Ellen Stalvey of Hahira; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Smith and Gloria C. Nesbit; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Martin and Jack Martin.
