Christmas shooting leaves one dead

Cordele police officers found a 28-year-old Cordele man shot to death on Christmas night in a car parked at Joe’s Meat Market on 1305 South Joe Wright Drive.
Officers responded to a shooting call at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the business’ parking lot, where they found the occupant of a car dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim is identified as 28-year-old Tonay McCall, according to a press release issued by the Cordele Police Department.
The department has requested the assistance of Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents from Region Three.
“Our detectives along with agents from Region Three – GBI and Crisp County Sheriff’s Office are working together to solve this crime. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to come forward with that information,” said CPD Deputy Chief Lewis Green.
