Mary Maxey Partain, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, at the age of 96. Graveside funeral services to honor Mary’s life were held on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Zion Hope Annex Cemetery. Rev. Kenny Peters officiated the service. Mrs. Partain’s granddaughter, Mary Beth Davis sang a song she wrote,  “Have Your Way.” Friends greeted the family at the conclusion of the service.

She was born on August 24, 1928, in Zwolle, Louisiana, to the late Leo and Annie Bragg Maxey. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arvol Ladell Partain, with whom she shared many years of love and companionship as well as her son, John Partain. Mary was a devoted homemaker, pouring her heart and soul into her family. She t

ook great pride in creating a warm and loving home for her children. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were a guiding light for her family. Mary’s legacy is woven into the fabric of her loved ones’ lives, and she will be profoundly missed.

Mary’s faith played a central role in her life. A lifelong Christian, she found comfort and strength in her beliefs, which were a source of inspiration for her family and all who knew her. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her actions, as she consistently demonstrated compassion and kindness to others.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Ken Partain and his wife Julie of Arabi, Georgia, and Delwin Partain and his wife Beverly of Cordele, Georgia. She was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
